Excerpt from the book "How Did It Begin" by Dr. R & L Brasch
"Walking Under Ladders"
The true origin of the superstition leads back to the ancient, pre-Christian belief in the sanctity of the triangle. This has always been the most common symbol of the Holy Trinity. To pass through it's area would be tantamount to defiance of sacred power and an intrusion into sanctified space. It would be dangerous play with supernatural forces. Worse still, such action might disturb, if not annul, the trinity's potency as a guard against satanic forces which, thus released, would immediately start their evil work.
I conclude... I shall ALWAYS walk underneath of ladders... release all the evil!
