Neglected once again...

I receive an update occasionally when there's a new view to this Blog, then I remember, "Oh yes, that's right! I have a blog."

I log in, and realize that once again, it's been a few months since I've had any sort of presence here. Let's see if I can actually commit to getting into it a bit more often.

I have commitment issues... even when it's just about blogging.

Let's get back into it....

I need an outlet of some kind. A release from my mind and my brain. Hopefully, writing on at least a weekly (if not daily basis) may help.

Here's a recap of life since February-ish of 2015.

My relationship of 10 years ended in divorce. Married for less than a year and it went down the shitter. With a swift kick, I found myself figuring out life on my own.

I'm lucky to have good people in my life who helped me pick up the pieces. I've got my own amazing condo in south Las Vegas now and I love it. Slowly, but surely, I'm setting up MY home the way I want it to be. No one else to complain about furniture arrangement, decor, etc. It's all MINE and I love it.

I love being home all the time now too. Even though I'm working two jobs still, the times I do get to just go home and be "me" is freakin' wonderful and fantastic. Sure, it's lonely at times. But it's peaceful. It's my little piece of peace in this crazy world.

I like that "Piece of Peace". Perfectly describes my home now.

MY HOME.

Someday...

Believe it or not, I log into Blogger every damn day. And I just don't have the attention span to write anything worth while.

Everything that I've known and loved in my adult life has been questioned these last two months and I'm a ticking time bomb of emotions. Eventually, I'll get back into writing like I used to. Even if I was just babbling about my damn food eating habits (and food cheating habits)... it was still therapeutic. Someday.

Until then... go get yourself a damn life.

I'm awful

I know I haven't been posting as regularly as I should or that I promised. It's been a crazy life lately. I work two full time jobs (75+ hours per week, no joke - 40 hours at the office and between 46 to 48 hours at the store).

Anyhoot,.... Life sucks right now.

I'm doing everything in my power and abilities to figure out how to afford a damn vacation. It really is the only thing I need right now. Hopefully, if I keep busting my ass with working this much, I'll have a couple extra dollars to sneak away in July for my birthday (Alaska visit?!)

Maybe I'll win the lottery.

Maybe I'll hit a jackpot at a casino

Maybe I'll find a 90 year-old billionaire high roller.

Maybe I'll forget this whole vacation idea and just stay put.

Or maybe, there will be a miracle and a plane ticket will fall from the sky?! (PUN INTENDED)

I'm extremely sleep deprived give me a damn break!

Cuckoo for Coconut Milk!

I have found that by far, Coconut Milk is my favorite alternative in the world of non-dairy milk options.

Check this out!!

Starbucks is now adding Coconut Milk to their non-dairy options for latte's and such! HOORAY!

Suffering in silence...

This week has been.... difficult, to say the least. My medication is causing tons of issues that are interfering with my everyday life. I can't sleep properly. When I finally do, I can't get out of bed. When I'm at work, I'm passing out at my desk from nausea or fatigue. My arms and legs are constantly locking up and hindering my ability to move.

This has likely been the worst week since I've lived in Nevada. Tomorrow is medication day, I take Methotrexate. Which is a powerful chemotherapy drug which is also used in abortions. (I tell you that so you can realize how brutal it really is). I called the doctor yesterday, he suggested to "up my dosage". Which is nearly impossible, seeing as how I'm basically at the maximum dosage that is recommended for my age. Great, did the doctor just tell me to overdose myself?

Please, I sit here suffering in silence. I'm in an excruciatingly high amount of pain. And yet, the rest of the world functions like this is the best day ever. No one in this office will every TRULY understand that I have a multitude of INVISIBLE ILLNESSES.

Vegan in Vegas: Day 29

Morning weight: 177

Breakfast - Special K with almond milk

Lunch - Veggie flatbread sandwich from Subway. I needed something quick and didn't have an entire lunch break available to get anything else. Flat bread, spinach, lettuce, olives, oil & vinegar, oregano.

Dinner - Totes cheated. Totes regretting it. We went to a restaurant called "On the Border". Mexican. I got a chicken and cheese burrito with black beans and Spanish rice. It also had pico, peppers and guacamole inside. Deliciousness. And yeah, I feel terrible from it today.

Vegan in Vegas: Day 23 through 27

I'm bad at this. Bad at keeping up with blogging. Bad at eating Vegan like I said I wanted to.

Day 23: I was decent. We went to Veggie House  in China Town here. IT WAS AMAZING. It's an Asian restaurant that is completely Vegan. Even says on the door "Do not bring meat products inside". Best damn sweet and sour "chicken" and sesame "chicken" I've ever had. Better than real chicken too. Good price. AND a Groupon coupon. Not too shabby.

Day 24: Unicorn and I picked up a friend of mine in North Las Vegas near the Air Force Base. We visited the Erotic Museum . Seriously, we spent hours in there. Again, awesome. PLUS I got to see Rob who I haven't hung out with since...... August I think. Yeah, August. It was nice catching up.

We grabbed food. Asian - different restaurant. Can't for the life of me remember the name, if it comes to me, I'll update this entry. Delicious again. I just had Spring Rolls, but still. Yum.

AND to cap of the evening... We drove back over to Tony Curtis' death house to take pics. And to Palm Memorial Cemetery for grave stone pics of his and also Redd Foxx and Dolores Fuller.

Day 25: Weak moment over night from the 24th to 25th. We ordered pizza. I know. I hate myself too. I tried to make up for it when I got home late on Sunday night by having rice and potatoes though!

Day 26: Special K with Almond milk for breakfast. Rice and pasta for lunch. No dinner, because I worked a double shift of both jobs without a break in between to grab food.

Day 27: Speak K with Almond milk for breakfast. Veggie sandwich for lunch. Dinner is rice and pasta later.

Posting this early (noon) because I'm working a double again and highly doubt that I'll have time to jump back on to say anything.

Fuck this is long. (That's what she said). But that's how I roll.

Vegan in Vegas: Day 22

Little did I realize, I've been out of it this week. So much so, that Thursday the 22nd, I had to call in sick to work because I literally couldn't get myself out of bed.

I finally got up around noon or so, but dang it was rough (and not in a good way).

I had a quick "lunch" of garlic herb rice and apple juice and then headed out for my next Unicorn adventure.

There's a place we found here called "Living Dead Tattoo". They have a fun little special for $30 Thursdays. So naturally, I got a unicorn tattoo on my ass. Our tattoo artist's name is Cassie. She's awesome as hell. She had unicorns all over her workspace, and was genuinely excited to tattoo a unicorn on my butt. It was great.

After that, we took a drive to Henderson to the Palm Memorial Cemetery to take a couple snapshots of Tony Curtis' headstone. We jumped the fence into the private garden where he is located. It's a great space. We also drove to the home he lived in before he died. However, it was super dark outside, so we will definitely be driving back over this weekend to get better pics for sure.

We stopped for Thai food at Gaati Thai Kitchen in Henderson. DELICIOUS! Mixed vegetable green curry with jasmine rice and yummyness!

Vegan in Vegas: Days 19 through 21

It's been a crazy couple of days of no sleep and lots of work, I haven't kept an accurate record of my food intake these couple of days.

However, Unicorn is visiting this week, and last night she cooked me an amazing dinner!

Vegan tacos/burritos. Ingredients were tortillas with spanish rice, black beans, roasted potatoes in taco sauce with peppers. Sides of lettuce, tomatoes and homemade guacamole for toppings. And topped it off with Coconut milk ice cream bars dipped in chocolate and covered in almonds.

DE-LIC-IOUS! Delicious! My tummy was full and happy!

I'll try to get back on track with writing stuff down better this week. But no promises.

Weekend Recap

I was bad.

Saturday, we decided to drive out to Los Angeles for a day of... well, whatever...

For "breakfast" on the road, it was Starbucks. An old fashioned root beer fizze with a butter croissant.

For "lunch/dinner" in Pomona on the way home, we tried Macaroni Grill. Ahh-Maze-Zing!
Seriously, this place was like a MUCH NICER Olive Garden, for cheaper prices. Good portions on the food, we had an amazing server, food was just delicious in general. For real! Fantastic! YUMM!

Didn't get home until almost midnight, it was a long, exhausting day. I did get to meet one of my idols, Scott Michaels from Dearly Departed Tours. He also runs my favorite website of all time. Find A Death. I've been reading this website for well near 10 years now. We were down on Hollywood Blvd and I knew his shop was just a quick jump down on Sunset, so we strolled over, and lo-and-behold, he was there. We were able to look around at all the neat collectibles and memorabilia he has from celebrity deaths, talk to him for 30 min or so. Grab a picture, key chain and a memory.

(Also, read his blog... because I said so! DDT Blog)
I'll definitely be going back in a couple months to do both the "regular" Dearly Departed Tour, as well as the Manson tour. Cannot wait. This really made the entire day to LA worth the exhaustion!

I'll be jumping over to the cemetery here in Vegas tomorrow to snap a pic or two of a couple celebrity gravestones also. Annnnnnd just maybe also to the house that Tony Curtis lived in when he died. I need a pic of that too.

I'm a weirdo.

Weekend Recap

For breakfasts, I stuck with Special K and almond milk... kind of getting sick of the sweetness taste of the almond milk. I might have to try a different kind next time around.

I did have a dairy free pizza on Saturday. It was tasteless. Not bad, just nothing exciting either. I didn't work at the store until 7pm on Saturday. So it was a very very late night.

I'm still catching up with regaining my energy and getting back onto a schedule.

Vegan in Vegas: Day 8

Morning weight: 178

Breakfast - Special K with almond milk

Lunch - My coworker made me "Mac-and-NOT-cheese".... I'll paste the recipe down below.

Dinner - I went to a movie last night at Suncoast Casino in Summerlin. I saw the new Hobbit in 3D (Awesome movie... forewarning... I did cry at one part). So of course, I indulged in popcorn. No butter, a large soda and reese's pieces.

Bedtime weight: 179

Here's the recipe for the "not-cheese sauce" of the lunch I had.

NOT-cheese recipe:
1/2 Cup - non-dairy butter or margarine
5 TBS flour
1.5 Cup almond or soy milk unsweetened or plain
3 TBS Nutritional yeast,
Salt and Pepper (whatever amount is your personal preference)

Melt butter in pot, gradually add in the 5 TBS flour while constantly mixing with fork so it does not have lumps. Gradually mix in milk while also forking (giggle), Gradually add in nutritional yeast and then salt, pepper, and whatever other seasonings you like.

Vegan in Vegas: Day 7

Morning weight: I'm going on about 4 hours of sleep today.... I didn't weigh myself today, I was in a hurry.

Breakfast - Special K with almond milk

Lunch - Nothing - I'm not hungry AT ALL today. It's weird.

Dinner - Mashed potatoes with garlic and herbs

Bedtime weight: I worked too much... went to bed at 6pm without weighing myself.

Vegan in Vegas: Day 6

Morning weight: 180.2

Breakfast - Glass of almond milk and granola bites (I was in a rush, needed something to eat on my way out the door)

Lunch - Garlic and herb rice with water to drink and a vegan snicker doodle for a "dessert"

Dinner - I'm a dork and didn't bring a fork with me to the second job. So I couldn't finish the rice I brought with me that was left over from lunch. I also didn't get home from job two until about 1am. Therefore... no din din for me.

Bedtime weight: 179

Recap: I worked a total of 16 hours today between the two jobs. Including drive time, I've been awake for 19 hours today. I'll get 5 hours of sleep tonight before I get up to go back to the office tomorrow. I'm pushing my body really hard to be working two jobs again. I've done it before, with an hour of drive time each way in between. I can do it again. It really feels good to work on a job on my feet again instead of just sitting at a desk in the office all day. Plus, human interaction with real customers (not via a computer like my desk job) is actually nice.

Also, who doesn't love getting paid to help people improve their sex life with toys and accessories? Am I right?

Unicorn, you know what I'm talking about! ;o)

Vegan in Vegas: Day 5

Morning weight: 180

Breakfast - Special K with almond milk

I definitely like almond milk, but depending on the type of cereal, it can make it way too sweet tasting. It was overly sweet when I was eating Honey Nut Chex. It's better with Special K for sure.

Lunch - Nothing - I was going too non-stop at work, I used my lunch break for a power nap in the car.

Dinner - Garlic & Herb mashed potatoes with corn and apple juice

Bedtime weight: 180.1

Recap: So obviously so far, I'm "maintaining" my current weight. I'm not losing anything, I'm not gaining anything either. Now that I'm working two jobs, and it's forcing me to be more active, perhaps that will change a bit. We can only hope.

Weekend Recap

I expected to be working the second job all weekend. But apparently, they've decided to only have been working Tuesday night. This sucks. I'm hoping for a lot more hours ASAP, but we shall see how it goes.

Food was minimal and boring on Saturday. Honey nut chex, veggie soup and spaghetti.

Sunday was grocery shopping day, and my body seemed to think it was STARVING all day. I ate far too much, but it was all within the parameters. Honey nut Chex, mashed potatoes, corn, and rice.

Vegan in Vegas: Day 2

Morning weight: 180

Breakfast - honey nut chex with almond milk

Vegan in Vegas: New Year! Day 1

Morning weight: 180

Breakfast - Honey Nut Chex with almond milk and apple juice

I got called into work my first "official" shift at my second job. Thus, I had to super duper rush to get ready. I ran to grab a quick lunch snack before going to the store to clock in.

Lunch - Plain bagel with no spread, toasted.

Dinner - Rice with garlic and herbs, I didn't get off from work until 10pm, therefore, dinner was just a quick snack at 11pm and straight to bed.

Bedtime weight: 180
